partnered with local library in Jeju (Hankyung Library)

We created a lecture version of Children's Chemistry Book which contained information like "What is Matter?" and "State of Matter." By using the book as a educational resource, We taught 13 elementary students in the local library, Hankyung Library. Not only reading Children's Chemistry Book, we created different activities like completing puzzles and competing in a memory game.

The reason why we decided to use the Children's Book to teach Korean students who do not have enough opportunities to learn other materials in English was to let them have the opportunity they missed. Our belief is that if students could learn other subjects, such as Chemistry, with English, both their knowledge of Chemistry and English skills would improve. After this volunteering experience, we realized the gap between kids in International School and those with a Korean educational background. If kids from Korean schools do not have the opportunity to learn materials in English, they are missing out on the opportunity to automatically increase their English skills.
